Your Only Friend Recordings presents the first release by its in-house production team. Comprised of the labels two head honchos, Your Only Friend is… Steve Ferrand (Urban Torque, Pack Up And Dance, Tronicsole) and Tres Manos (Detour, Om Records, Justified Cause).
Straight from the dusty vaults of ghetto house grooves comes “Back From The Dead”. Ruff minimalistic beats, scratchy rap samples and wobbly bass lock you in the groove with some clever cutz until the hats break loose for a stomping drum work out.
“Spelunkin’s” jacking groove and sweet meanderings will entrance and delight you. A simple bass bounces over crisp jacking beats and hypnotic samples for an unexpected mid-tempo house groover.
Rounding up this EP is “Sandy Bitches”. A tongue in cheek house track with a nod to 90’s Chicago disco cut-ups that stomps along over woody bass and driving hats... You’ll love it.

“A-up, WOwoah.. what a delightfully unpredictable package this release is! Im proper liking all three tracks each their own qualities - but theyre all growers as to me this kind of music takes a few listens to get your head around = a good thing IMO. So, of the lot Im not sure which one stands out the most - maybe Back from the Dead, maybe Sandy Bitches just pip Spelunkin though.. Will befriend my only friend and support it, given the right opportunity: which means it doesnt detract from the quality of the release, maybe just highlights the calibre of my DJ bookings hehe - keep em coming! //Ant”

Press:
“I haven't heard anything like this in a while... an almost Moodyman-style composition of the tracks. Layers upon layers of intelligent instrumentation and quirky loops really getting it done. These will be big. Love the samples and breakdowns throughout. Smart and really impactful parts of each cut. Will be working all 3 and reviewing on My Cuppa T. Thanks, CheckPoint”
- CheckPoint (My Cuppa T)

“1. Not sure if it just for weirdness sakes but the sound is great but the freakyiness in style seems to be a bit off kilter, good but not my style 2. Funky off beat nature is awesome, need more lo fi grooves like this around
